Do you travel?
Yes we do. We have travelled far and wide for varying events in the North, South and Stewart Islands. We will entertain anywhere you require. Of course, with travel, there does come an added cost and depending where we are, accommodation.
Outdoor Events
Because of the climate, many events are planned to have entertainment outdoors. WE LOVE TO PLAY OUTDOORS!!! However, If you require us to play outdoors, there will also need to be provisions if the weather changes. Appropriate shelter, or a wet weather venue must be provided. There is a lot of expensive equipment that is not water resistant and must be out of the rain. We have commonly heard “we can just move you over here if it rains”, however, this could take over an hour to pack down and reset. Also, electrocution becomes a large issue! We will cease a performance due to water.
Do you require a stage?
A stage is always preferable, but not always practical. Our main request is that we are not on Gravel, Dirt or Wet Grass.
How long do you play for?
The standard time we play for is 3 hours (e.g. 7-10, 8-11 etc). Obviously we will play an encore or 2 if the night has been a humdinger. Please note that when making your plans for your event, put some thought into the start and finish times for the band. If speeches end up going into the performance time, we will still end the performance at the agreed finish time.
Can we tell you what to play ?
You can absolutely let us know what you are in to. However, we do not work off a set playlist. After years of entertaining, it is important that we are left to read the crowd, after all, this is our job. We have hundreds of songs that we can grab at any time to make sure that everyone at your event will be having the best time. At any function, there may be age groups from Children through to Elderly so we are always mindful of the “whole” room.
Can you learn a song for our wedding?
We often learn a special song or two for a wedding. We will often get asked specifically for a first dance song. If we are confidant we can do a fantastic job of it, then absolutely
How many breaks to you take?
In a 3 hour set, we usually only take one break. It’s important to us to make sure you are getting your moneys worth when booking us. There have been nights where, in a 3 hour set, we just plough straight through as the night is so epic..why stop.
Do you play Longer?
Yes, we can. There is an extra cost to playing longer.
When do you set up?
When we are planning the event with you, we can arrange a time to set up that will not inconvenience or disturb your guests. We do not want to be intrusive. Usually, if we are able to set up in the afternoon, that is what we will do.
What events do you play?
We have played in various venues from living rooms to large outdoor stages. We have even played at ski fields in at below zero temperatures. Weddings, Corporate Events, Birthdays, Anniversaries, School Balls and Gala Evenings. We can cater from the smallest audiences to the main stage of a new year.
Are you self-contained?
We bring everything that your event entertainment will need. We have a state of the art Bose System for very small events. We have a top of the line sound system that can cater to a room with 400 people. As far as lighting, we carry everything we could need to light up our stage area and create a fantastic atmosphere on stage.
